POSTX slashed costs and boosted safety with Flock’s connected fleet insurance, achieving a 95/100 safety score and a 22% loss ratio. Discover how they did it.
POSTX helps companies cut middle-mile logistics costs by over 50%, while avoiding 100% tailpipe emissions. They do this by providing companies with a platform that makes sorting, loading and routing goods more efficient - while replacing the need for large trucks, tail lifts or specialist C-licences, with a distributed workforce of EV drivers towing box trailers.
These low-ramp trailers load 14 times faster than normal commercial vehicles, cutting out 90% of wasted time and making the job safer. The trailers are pulled by electric SUVs that can go over ~160 miles on one charge, and back to 80% using readily available Supercharger networks, so vehicle down-time is minimised from the charging process.
POSTX went to their insurance broker with a business goal of creating the safest transport solution in the UK. Safety was central to their mission from the start, and they saw advanced vehicle sensors and telematics data as a way to make that vision a reality.
After exploring options with several traditional fleet insurers, POSTX took a different approach with Flock. Telematics has been central to unlocking value from their policy and has helped POSTX implement one of the UK’s safest fleets.
Nine months in, 92% of these vehicles are actively sharing telematics data with Flock.
This connection gives the POSTX team full visibility through the Flock Portal, helping them monitor driving behaviour, spot early signs of risk and take action quickly.
As a growing logistics business, POSTX needed the flexibility to adapt their fleet quickly. With new routes, changing customer demands and expanding operations, vehicles are regularly added and removed from their fleet policy.
In the Flock Portal, POSTX can make these changes and access all policy documents in one place. Whether onboarding a new vehicle or retiring one temporarily, taking a vehicle on/off cover takes seconds and updates are automatically synced with the Motor Insurance Database (MID).
With everything managed digitally in one place, the team has full control over which vehicles are covered at any time - ensuring they only pay for what they use and can scale their fleet without delays.
With safety as their north star, the POSTX EV & trailer model has made real progress in a short space of time. Their fleet safety score is 95, placing them among the safest fleets in Flock’s book, while driving over 12 months and over 300,000 miles across the U.K.
This score is calculated using telematics data points like critical speeding and harsh braking - key indicators of risk on the road.
To reach and maintain this score, POSTX has built a strong internal safety process. They coach each driver using their individual vehicle data, review routes to reduce risk, and share performance insights across the team. Safety scores are reviewed regularly with drivers to build a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
“At POSTX, our mission is to demonstrate that there’s a safer, cleaner, and more efficient alternative to conventional middle-mile truck fleets. This part of the supply chain has been one of the hardest to decarbonise - and often one of the riskiest.
“We’re building a new kind of logistics model: electric, distributed, and powered by real-time data. Partnering with Flock has helped us not only improve safety on the ground, but also prove to the insurance and transport industry that our fleet design carries significantly lower risk and costs than traditional trucking operations.”
- Max Glaisher, CEO, POSTX
They also take part in quarterly sessions with Flock’s safety coaches. These sessions guide the team on how to get the most from telematics data - what to monitor, how to spot trends and how to reduce exposure. The advice is fed directly into their operations, shaping the conversations with drivers and helping keep performance high.
By using driving data to improve safety and reduce risk, POSTX has kept their insurance costs firmly under control. Their loss ratio is just 22%, meaning the total cost of claims is far lower than the premiums they’ve paid. This shows not only strong performance but also impressive risk management from a team scaling quickly and safely.
A key part of this success has been their use of Safety Insights. The Flock Portal provides a clear breakdown of where and why risk is building - highlighting things like speeding hotspots and specific vehicles linked to high-risk behaviours. These insights are reviewed regularly by the operations team and built into daily fleet management decisions.
Even when incidents do occur, they’re typically minor. The average claim value is £2,042, suggesting that more serious or high-impact accidents are being successfully avoided. That’s a direct result of their proactive, data-first approach.
This combination of insight and action is what makes Flock’s digital claims proposition so powerful. It’s one of the key features that helps POSTX keep claims costs low and insurance pricing sustainable.
Because of their strong performance, POSTX is already on track to earn a £3,903 rebate through Flock’s rebate model.
With Flock, safer fleets pay less, so fleets that drive safely can earn back up to 10% of their premium - a meaningful return that rewards ongoing risk reduction and helps reduce the cost of fleet insurance.
POSTX is showing what’s possible with connected fleet insurance cover - lower costs, fewer claims and real rewards for safer driving. If you're looking for a smarter way to manage your fleet, Flock can help.
